Look at the fantastic progress made from the start of the year to now, especially in the application of VGPS.
The staff meeting this week was a combination of staff working together from St Silas, Heygreen and Garston Orimary – Looking at the use of VGPS in writing.
At Heygreen, we start English lessons with a VGPS starter to recap prior VGPS learning.
Today, we had a very special visitor in school. He was an author called Damian Harvey. He led a school assembly and then read stories to EYFS and held KS2 workshops about characterisation and plot. We had lots of fun and learnt so much. Thank you.
Following our VGPS staff meeting, the staff filled out evaluations. See below.
Today, the staff took part in a twilight staff meeting focussed on VGPS. They looked at past SPaG SAT papers, created a vocabulary glossary and spoke about the importance of children self-editing.
Class 4 are going to write a fictional recount. To help with this, they are sequencing the story using fronted adverbials of time.
